ModeratorThat sounds like a very unique and interesting situation! While I’m not sure of a specific solution, here are some ideas that might help:
1. You could consider creating a clear labeling system with each headshot that includes both the student’s current grade level and their graduation year, making it easier to identify them.
2. Another option could be to arrange the headshots alphabetically by last name, instead of by graduation year, which might help alleviate some confusion.
3. You might also want to gather feedback from students and parents to see how they feel about this format, as their input could provide valuable insights into potential concerns.
4. Perhaps involving the student body in the project could help foster a sense of community and acceptance of this new layout.
5. My last idea would be to suggest maybe do groupings, like these are all the lower elementary or upper elementary, this is middle school or this is high school so you’re not giving them a specific grade designation.
I hope these suggestions spark some ideas for your project!

ModeratorWe’ve done shirts each year and it’s just student media generic not related to the theme. I wanted a club but the school needs it as an elective. We have now sign up for snacks! We have deadline coming up so eating and working is fun.

ModeratorLynn,
I recently had a student who started my class overwhelmed and not sure how things were going to be. She said that she feels that the Yearbook is her ‘baby’ now and that she cannot wait to see the finished product and what her classmates will come up with. I made her the editor-in-chief! It was rewarding to see her go from scared to enjoying the process even though it’s work, it’s rewarding!Jacqueline
ModeratorKaylee, these funding ideas are great! Costs just keep going up because of a variety of reasons and trying to keep costs down for students/families is a huge responsibility. I usually only think of ads! The other ideas are great! Thanks! I will ask my class this week if they want to do something.

ModeratorLynn, it sure is a lot of work but it is so rewarding! Planning time to receive the books, sort, and more can take days, and leave days for signing is obviously a big deal too. These are such great reminders. The video is a great idea! Our school has to be careful of what goes on social media since we have parents sign permission/no permission for their child to be on the school’s social media. It’s overall great to document it for others to see how it is done, too.
